How can you people who call yourselves Christians not be revolted at modern Christianity...?

Of course modern Christianity is different from the original teachings. Religion, much like culture, is constantly evolving, usually to fit the needs of its people. Nothing is static forever. BTW, this process need not be restricted to Christianity, it's more of a universal phenomenon.
