What is the technique for floor cutting?

I have installed several hard wood floors. I have always made the majority of my cuts with a table saw and a chop or miter saw. But sometimes for the tight cuts I have used a "jig" saw for cuts that required a 90 degree cut in the middle of a board. But whenever possible I would try to lay the floor out so a seam (end to end) would be at that spot and I could use a separate board trimmed with the table saw. Proper planning and layout can save you a lot of unnecessary trim work later on.
