Serious doubt in engines?

can we actually run the engine with air pressure?? if so y cant we use the carbon monoxide emission again into the engine so that the fuel consuption is verymuch reduced?? can we increase the strokes of the engine like first 4 cycles for complete combustion n another couple of cycles by pressure of the liberated carbon monoxide???
