What is a typical Japanese breakfast?

My daughter is planning a Japan-themed birthday party. I've got the dinner stuff covered, but wanted to ask what a typical Japanese breakfast would be, as the girls will be sleeping over. Somehow, after the elaborate dinner we're planning, pop-tarts just don't seem appropriate. :-) Thanks for any information you can offer!
